What age did you develop a passion for music?

I was 5. I loved singing along to the music on the radio, and so started doing singing performances for my family. I realised how much I loved it and how much I loved entertaining those around me, which led me to dreaming about pursuing a career in music from a very young age.

What inspired you to go into the music industry?

I went through a rough time at school; I came from a broken home and did not have many friends as I got picked on by some of the older kids. I built a strong relationship with the music teacher, she taught me all I know now about singing and encouraged me to fulfil my potential as a singer. She helped me build my confidence and helped me be who I am today. Singing truly makes me feel happy and the fact it also brings other people joy makes me happy, as I know I am able to entertain and inspire others.

How have you developed your career?

I started performing at local gigs within my area, North London, mainly in pubs and bars. As much as I loved it, I wanted to pursue my dreams and take my career to the next level by gaining more recognition. I started posting singing videos on TikTok, and one of them blew up. Then, after a short time of 2 weeks, I was at 300,000 followers. This meant I got recognised and soon after signed by a music label and now have any loyal fans.

What is the best advice you've been given?

The best advice i have ever been given is to never let go of my dreams. This is because, even when my dreams seemed very unlikely and many people either put me down or doubted me, this advice kept me going, and made me get where I am today.

Who is your favourite pop artist and why?

My favourite pop artist is Ariana Grande. I watched her in my younger years on a television series and have followed her as a fan along her journey ever since. Being part of her large fan base, and experiencing it grow mass amounts each year inspires me.

What is next for you?

I'm going to start performing for my fans at my own concerts, and have my management set up meet and greets so that I am able to interact more with those who like me and my music. I also want to start working with some music charities as my way of giving back.

Photos

This is a picture of me taking shots of the model for my magazine. This is to illustrate that I am the one who took the photos included within my magazine.

Front cover
I decided not to use this photo for my front cover as it is rather zoomed out, and so I feel as though my attention is brought to the objects and lights in the background rather than the model. As my magazine is an artist based magazine, I wanted the photo to mainly capture the model.

This will be the main image on the front cover of my magazine. This is because it will allow readers to clearly get a visual idea of the artist, while appreciating the appealing surroundings. The neon signs and the bright colours will draw the attention of readers, and make them feel inclined to pick it over those in competition.

Main image on the double page spread
I decided not to use this picture as I wanted the main image on the inside to be a full body shot as the front cover did not. As the front cover illustrates the model sitting down, I wanted to switch it up and make it look a bit different. I also wanted to show the outfit clearly as it is important to include the latest trends within my magazine, as the pop I am representing is a current genre.

I chose this photo for the main image on the double page spread as the pose she is doing gives the impression that she is having a good time, like the readers will when reading the magazine. As well as this, she is not taking herself to seriously within the picture, which reflects my magazine, as I want it to be a fun and easy read. The fact that there is a variety of different colours will appeal to my target audience, as it can appeal to a wider audience, both boys and girls.

Other images on the double page spread
I decided to use this image, as the flag in the background is the England flag, and one of the requirements in the client brief is for the magazine to be a North London based magazine. As London is the capital of England, I thought that this would help reflect this requirement visually in the magazine.

I decided to use this photo within the magazine as it is very different to the others, and as the outfit is the same in all of them, I did not want all the photos to look the same. As well as this, readers will clearly be able to identify her facial expression.

Documenting and software set up

I went onto Photopea and created a new project
I then chose what size I wanted the front cover of my magazine
I then chose the paper size I wanted the front cover to be, I chose A4.
I then chose a plain template so I had the freedom to design it the way I want, and made the title 'magazine front cover'.
I then went to design the double page spread. I went back to the choice of paper size, and changed the measurements so that it would be a piece of A4 paper that was horizontal.
I then chose a template for the double page spread.
I chose a plain template so I had the freedom to choose my own designs. I then made the title, 'magazine double page spread'.

M3 (U3)Create production material that follows the codes and conventions of the chosen genre for the media product.

Photos
The image I am using for my front cover follows the codes and conventions of the pop genre as the neon signs, and the colour red conform to the pop genre as they are bright and bold. These colours and light within the photo connotes a fun and upbeat undertone to the magazine, which is what the pop genre is all about. As well as this, the model is at the main centre of the image, meaning she is at the full attention of the viewers, which reflects the fact my magazine is an artist based magazine. The fact that she is holding direct eye contact with the reader connotes her dominance within the genre, and the industry as a whole.
The main image I am using in the double page spread conforms to the pop genre as there are a variety of different colours within the background, which can illustrate how the pop genre is for everybody. Her costume is arguably trendy at this moment in time, and as the pop genre keeps up with the current trends, it is important that this is reflected within my magazine. As the pose she is doing and facial expression she is making suggests she is not taking herself to seriously, and is having fun, conforms to the pop genre as pop is known for being excitable and fun.
The first image I inserted under, the other photos I am going to be using for the double page spread, I am using as it conforms to the pop genre in North London as the flag in the background is the England flag. As London is the capital of England, I thought that this would help reflect this requirement of my product being based in North London, visually in the magazine.
The other photo I am using on the double page spread conforms to pop as her facial expression, which is clearly happy, reflects the idea that pop is a fun and upbeat genre that creates joy and happiness.
Body copy
The body copy conforms to the genre of pop as it includes pops top 10 current hits. This means my magazine will inform readers on all the popular songs now As well as this, the activity in which one can match the album cover to the music artist, conforms to the genre of pop as it informs readers on different pop artists and the albums they are producing. The exclusive Q&A also conforms to the and conventions of pop as it is educating readers on the background behind the pop artist.
Location
The location conforms to the genre of pop as it consists of lights and a variety of different colours. This reinforces the view that pop is an exciting, joyful and upbeat genre for everybody. The lights in the background almost look like a set on stage, which makes the pictures look as though the model is performing for the readers.

Task 8: Post-production techniques and processes (U3: P5)  Learning Outcome 4  (U3) :  Be able to carry out post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief.     P5  (U3) : Carry out post-production techniques and processes to produce a final original media product in line to the client brief    I firstly  uploaded my main image onto the front cover. I decided to do this before writing the cover-lines as then I would be able to scatter the cover-lines across the page without disrupting the main image.  I then used the shape tool and created a rectangle, that I used as a skyline.  I then duplicated the skyline layer, and dragged it to the bottom. This is so I have a space to put the significant conventions of a magazine, such as the date, edition number, price and website.  I then used the colour picker to change the 2 shapes to the colour purple, as that is the signature colour...
