Choose a different font for the masthead
I understand that I could change the font of the masthead, due to it reflecting a more retro and dated tone of the genre pop, which would not reflect the content of my magazine as I want it to reflect the contemporary society in North London. I could respond by choosing a new font that reflects the current pop genre and the concept of my magazine, that is more likely to appeal to my target audience.

Choose a different colour for the masthead
I understand that I could change the colour of my masthead. This is because by making it black it increases the chance of it being similar to all magazines, and the ones in competition and is at risk of not standing out, as it visually looks like any other generic magazine. I could respond to this by

Add more detail and conventions to the digital mockup double page spread
I understand that I need to add more detail and conventions to the double page spread of my digital mock up in order to make it look more like a magazine. I could respond to this by

Change my colour scheme
I understand that i should update my colour scheme. Rather than one bright colour, purple, and black and white. I could respond by adding different bright colours. I would choose to do this so that the different colours conform to the genre of pop and so that it stands out, and is more eye catching to those browsing and consuming my product. I could even add colours that clash, as it may be an effective way of gravitating consumers towards my magazine.

Add more to the mood board
I understand that i should represent more in my mood board other than the artists. This will show that the pop genre is not just about the artists, but also about the colours and typography. Therefore, I could respond by adding more colours to my mood board that I can reflect in my magazine that conform to the pop genre, as well as different typography that could be used as inspiration for my magazine.

Increase the price
I understand that I should increase the price of my magazine. It is a big magazine that consists of 180 pages, which means there will be a lot of content included. Therefore I will respond by increasing my price by £3, which will bring it up to £6.99.

Task 8: Post-production techniques and processes (U3: P5)

Task 8: Post-production techniques and processes (U3: P5)  Learning Outcome 4  (U3) :  Be able to carry out post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief.     P5  (U3) : Carry out post-production techniques and processes to produce a final original media product in line to the client brief    I firstly  uploaded my main image onto the front cover. I decided to do this before writing the cover-lines as then I would be able to scatter the cover-lines across the page without disrupting the main image.  I then used the shape tool and created a rectangle, that I used as a skyline.  I then duplicated the skyline layer, and dragged it to the bottom. This is so I have a space to put the significant conventions of a magazine, such as the date, edition number, price and website.  I then used the colour picker to change the 2 shapes to the colour purple, as that is the signature colour...

I will do this by creating an artist-based pop music magazine, based in North London, appealing to readers with a shared interest in pop .  I will do this by providing amusing content, such as exclusive interviews and appealing images that conform to the genre of pop, that will attract my target audience. One of the ways in which this will entertain my audience could be through escapism. As it will consist of an exclusive interview, it allows readers to escape from t...
